Gateway to Professional Counselling & Mental Health Practice
Our
Story
Re-Search CIC was founded in response to the urgent mental health challenges faced by communities in Stockton-on-Tees and the wider Tees valley and further across the North East. Based in Stockton - a town ranked among the most deprived areas in England - we recognised the deep inequalities affecting local people, particularly in terms of mental health, well-being, and life expectancy. In some parts of the borough, men live on average 17 years less than those in more affluent areas, and nearly 1 in 5 children live in absolute poverty.

Recent Surveys revealed that almost 50% of local residents rated their mental health as poor or extremely poor, highlighting an urgent need for accessible, affordable and high quality support.

We formed Re-Search CIC - a Community Interest Company dedicated to improving mental health outcomes by connecting local partners, listening to community voices, and working together to reduce health disparities. We are proud to share values with organisations like 'Healthwatch', Teesside Mind, and Impact on Teesside, and we aim to create positive change in Stockton and across neighbouring towns like Middlesbrough, and Hartlepool - and other areas experiencing extreme deprivation.

Together, we believe in building a fairer, healthier future for all.
