About the Group

This monthly group offers a dedicated space for counsellors and students of counselling to come together in the spirit of an encounter group.

Rooted in the person-centred ethos of authenticity, empathy, and unconditional positive regard, the group provides a unique opportunity to explore self, relationship, and process in a supportive community.

Unlike skills training or supervision, the emphasis here is on being rather than doing, cultivating presence, self-awareness, and openness to encounter. Through shared reflection and dialogue, participants are invited to:

  • Deepen their personal and professional growth

  • Explore relational dynamics in the here-and-now

  • Develop greater congruence between therapist self and personal self

  • Experience the power of authentic encounter as a resource for practice

Each session is emergent and participant-led, with the facilitator holding a safe and containing frame. The group aims to nurture the inner life of the therapist, offering both nourishment and challenge in equal measure.

Places are limited to 10 spaces...

Dates: 1st October, 5th November, 3rd December, 7th January, 4th February, 4th March, 1st April
